Maddi and Lloyd's coastal-chic kitchen - designed and renovated by Adam and Lisa - scored three perfect 10s, making it the highest-scoring room in House Rules history.
The couple dreamt of a "laid-back coastal paradise" with a splash of the Bahamas when the teams took to their run-down Queenslander.
In addition to "keep it organic" and "layer in texture instead of colour", their wishlist included a "dream island" in the kitchen.
Adam and Lisa, who were tasked with renovating the kitchen, said the island bench was a key part of their design for the space. "I knew Lloyd loved to cook so wanted the space to be very practical," they said.
The Caesarstone Alpine Mist bench takes price of place in the expansive kitchen, set beneath a trio of rattan pendant lights from Vast Interior and with rustic Tractor bar stools from Freedom on the outer side alongside a Vintec underbench wine fridge.
Adam and Lisa said the pendants and stools were among their favourite items in the room, along with the LED strip lighting which was used to highlight the light-blue glass splashback. They were also proud of the cathedral ceilings.
Lisa said the value of creating a mood board was the biggest lesson they learnt from this zone.
"It was much easier to shop when I had a vision," she said. "I was shopping with purpose and it felt great. I wasn't wandering around aimlessly and wasn't willing to compromise, or deviate from the design in my head."
"We learnt that first impressions are everything and that when you have a design in your head or via a mood board, it is easier to stick to your vision when shopping," the couple said.
