Todd Pearson, James O'Toole, Col Braund and Greg Tate have been an invincible Rottnest Channel Swim combination for the past two years.

After failing to make the ballot for this year's race, the team, who refer to themselves as The Older Generation, were gutted but were quickly snapped up by _The West Australian _ to swim in the corporate leg.

"The Rotto swim is great for getting fit and it's a good excuse to have a couple of quiet ones on the island afterwards," Mr Pearson said.

He said the men had been swimming together for years and between the four of them had participated in at least 20 Rottnest swims.

According to the Weather Bureau, the conditions for tomorrow are "not great but not horrendous". Swimmers will have to battle south-westerly winds and a 2-3m swell at the beginning, but winds will become more southerly later in the morning.

As well as sponsoring the team, _The West Australian _ has joined forces with Jim Kidd and Speedo to create a unique pair of board shorts. The shorts are covered in photos taken from previous years of the swim by photographers at _The West. _

The shorts are being sold at all Jim Kidd stores for $79.95 and anyone who brings this article along when buying the boardies will get a free pair of $20 Speedo goggles.
