Ksubi go separate ways

The two designers behind Aussie denim brand Ksubi are splitting, after 12 years in the fashion business.

George Gorrow and Dan Single, known for their sexy grunge streetwear, and provocative run-way shows, such as when they set free 200 live rats in a 2001 show, have decided to leave on a high, according to Fairfax newspapers.

The brand, which originally started off as Tsubi, but had a name change in 2006 due to a US trademark dispute, showed off their spring 2012 collection at the Australian Fashion Week in May to rave reviews.

Title Bad Sports, with its hooded and layered outfits in faded denim, and mesh and silver jackets, pants and minuscule mini-skirts, has been a strong collection for the brand, which has been picked up internationally at Harvey Nichols and Harrods in London.

"It's not in my nature to leave something on a low... so I thought what better time to leave than on a high?" he told Fairfax website.
