Natalie Portman's grandmother would like the actress to wear more make-up.
Portman, who won an Oscar for her role in Black Swan, aspires to be like her idol Sophia Coppola, who she thinks always looks perfectly presented.
Portman feels as if she never quite succeeds in putting on a perfect public appearance, something her grandmother often points out.
"I love Sofia Coppola's whole aesthetic. She presents herself in a ladylike fashion and has so much personality," she told told InStyle magazine.
"My grandmother believes you don't leave the house unless you have perfect hair and make-up, so she is always at me for not brushing my hair or not putting on enough make-up."
Despite her claims that she does not live up to her feminine ideal, Portman does have some girly tendencies. The actress never goes anywhere without some lipstick.
"I keep three lipsticks with me, always," Portman said.
"One nude, everyday colour, plus a red and a plum for dressing up."
