After wowing the crowds at the Myer fashion launch last week in Sydney with his buff body, Kris Smith says he can't wait to head to WA next month for the Perth Fashion Festival.

The visit for Manchester-born Smith will be the longest he has spent in Perth, during which he will be the star guest at PFF's annual Myer Fashion Luncheon at the State Reception Centre in Kings Park on September 21.

A former British rugby league star, Smith has quickly become one of Australia's most in-demand male models.

He said since taking on the role of male ambassador with Myer, he had realised the importance of a man dressing well and experimenting with fashion.

"There's no pressure to get it right every time," Smith said.

"If you don't try, you'll never know. I tried on some red chinos and I never thought I would ever be seen in them. And I actually requested them straight away. I said 'I need these'. I'm like a spoilt child in a candy shop."

The 34-year-old recently made a trip to LA to chase a number of opportunities and is considering some TV work in Australia.

However, he also has a few things planned away from the spotlight.

"I want to try and broaden my educational horizon too, so I am going to do a personal training course and maybe a physical education course," he said.
