There is a distinct buzz on the warm sea breezes along Cable Beach ahead of Saturday's Broome Cup where WA's glossy, beautiful and rich come for a high society fling.

Beside the sea at Gantheaume Point, Broome Turf Club will host thousands for its final race meeting of the season, featuring the $100,000 Broome Cup and a $40,000 sprint.

Linneys will host the most exclusive trackside soiree of the North West racing season, with its music-themed marquee to feature live music played on a grand piano as well as running its coveted Fashions on the Field.

The winner will take home a hand-forged 18-carat gold and Australian South Sea pearl pendant valued at $3700.

The spotlight will also be on fashion when Perth Fashion Week makes its debut on the Broome racing stage, bringing a number of acclaimed designers to showcase their collections trackside.

Perth Fashion Week director Sylvia Giacci said there would be two showcases, including collections from Jessica Bratich, Mec & The Maid, Thompson Clothing, With Grace, Kaninda Designs and Ruth Tarvydas.

Models, including participants from indigenous modelling and leadership program Kimberley Girl, will be styled by Kevin Murphy for Hair director Simone Lee.

"Perth Fashion Week is delighted to showcase our WA designers at this event, which will capture a high profile audience to further promote our brands," Ms Giacci said.

PFW was also in talks about a major event to take place in Broome mid next year, she said.
