A fleet of blossoming local designers will get the chance to follow in the footsteps of high-profile label Zhivago when they take part in this year's Perth Fashion Festival Designer Capsule line-up.

The brainchild of designer socialites Lara Kovacevich and Lydia Tsvetnenko, Zhivago rose to fame following its first runway show in last year's Designer Capsule 3 and is now a household name on the Perth fashion circuit.

This year's Designer Capsule line-up includes both rising and established designers and will be split into two shows to be held at Fashion Paramount in September.

Designer Capsule 1 has grouped together Daniella Caputi, Zsadar, Lisa Marjanovich and The Butcher and the Crow, all known for their edgy aesthetic.

Zsadar is no stranger to the runway, making a dramatic debut in a Designer Capsule show last year before going on to show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia last month.

Designer Capsule 2 will take on a more light-hearted approach with Kim Barton, Steph Audino and Garth Cook sending their clothes down the runway.

As the newest label in the line-up, Barton will launch her first-ever collection during the show.

The Designer Capsule showcases were added to the PFF calendar of events last year as a way to give local designers the opportunity to show smaller collections.

Previous participants include Little Gracie, who also went on to show at MBFWA this year, and One Fell Swoop, named Most Innovative Designer at the WA Fashion Awards in February.

Perth Fashion Festival runs September 19-25.
