Costarella always has time for Perth fundraiser

No matter how in demand he is around the world, one event that Aurelio Costarella keeps returning for is STYLEAID.

The famed Perth designer has been part of WA's biggest fashion fundraiser since its inception and will send his models down the catwalk for the 17th time.

The event has provided a launching pad for models such as Nicole Trunfio and Gemma Ward and a number of local designers.

But it is surpassing the $1 million fundraising mark for the WA AIDS Council that has impressed Costarella the most.

"It's a wonderful result and we can only hope that STYLEAID will continue to go from strength to strength each year," Costarella said.

"That money is certainly going to an incredible cause in supporting people living with HIV and AIDS."

Fresh off the plane from Hong Kong, where he was working on his winter 2015 collection, Costarella yesterday fitted models in creations from his spring- summer range for the August 1 event at Crown Perth.

The designer, who recently celebrated the end of his 30 Year Retrospective at the WA Museum, is also preparing to make his debut at Paris Fashion Week in September.

Other designers who will show at STYLEAID include ae'lkemi, Zhivago, Morrison, Flannel and Zsadar.
