As a large crowd gathered at Kings Park for this morning's dawn service to commemorate the 100th landing of the Anzac forces at Gallipoli, arsonists were instead nearby lighting fires.

The arson squad has called for the public's help in their investigation into several small fires in Kings Park today.

Three fires were deliberately lit between 4am and 6.30am.

"The fires were in the vicinity of Frasers Restaurant and the Kings Park Tennis Club - Fraser Avenue, Lovekin and May drives, Jorang Grove and Kings Park Road," a police spokeswoman said.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services officers extinguished the fires.

Anyone with any information regarding the fires is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
