An 18-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after being dragged from a car that burst into flames after colliding with an allegedly stolen vehicle on Kwinana Freeway last night.
The incident occurred about 10.20pm in the north bound lanes before the Mill Point Road entry and closed the freeway for several hours.
People at the scene helped the man out of the burning car. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The ABC reports a registered nurse pulled the man from the wreckage.
Police said a Ford Festiva, believed to be stolen, and carrying three people was travelling north on the freeway.
A Suzuki Swift, driven by the 18-year-old, which police said was thought to be travelling with the Festiva, struck the guard rail before the Mill Point Road entry in South Perth.
It swerved back into freeway traffic and collided with the Festiva.
The Suzuki burst into flames. The driver was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
Two passengers in the Festiva were taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with possible back injuries.
Police said the driver of the Festiva fled the scene.
