An out-of-control 15th birthday party ended with a mob fighting, some with knives, and police pelted with bottles in a Queens Park street last night.

A police spokeswoman said police were called to Longhurst Way around 8.50pm after reports that around 200 people were at a party and a number were fighting with knives at the front of the house.

The arrival of officers sent the brawlers running to the back of the property, she said.

"The party, which was being held for a girl’s 15th birthday, was declared an out of control gathering and the party-goers were advised to leave the house," she said.

"Police withdrew down the street as bottles were thrown at them."

Officers from Regional Operations Group, mounted section and dog squad attended the area and moved a number of groups from the area.

Cars in the area had windows smashed.

A number of move-on notices were issued, and a 19-year-old youth of Kelmscott will be summonsed for disorderly conduct.
