Guilty plea to Como salon murder

The ex-husband of fatal stabbing victim Angela Ferullo today pleaded guilty to murdering her in her Como salon, with her grieving family saying the move has finally given them some justice.

James Bill Payet pleaded guilty in the Stirling Gardens Magistrate's Court this morning to the murder of his former wife and other charges stemming from the horrific attack which also saw Ms Ferullo's then-pregnant daughter Selina Bello injured along with salon client who had tried to intervene.

Outside court, Ms Bello wept and said she was relieved that Payet pleaded guilty.

“Me and my family can finally put this behind us,” she said.

Moments after the guilty pleas this morning, Ms Bello posted a message on social media expressing her love for her mother and hopes that her family could finally move forward after months of "hell".

"Today we finally received some justice guilty pleas were entered and now we can finally move forward from the hell we have endured for the past 7 months'" she posted. "Thank you to everyone who has supported myself and my family during this time.

“Mum not a day goes by that we don't think about you and the great loss we have experienced hopefully now you can rest easy knowing that justice has and will be served love you always x."

Ms Bello had been present in the Como salon when Payet walked into the premises in June last year wielding a knife and attacked his 43-year-old ex-partner and her daughter.

A 67-year-old salon customer was also wounded when she threw a chair at Payet.

Payet, who now faces a life prison term, he will be sentenced in May.
