A newlywed farmer found dead in his garage took his own life just weeks after he married, an inquest in the UK has been told.
The Daily Mail reports 46-year-old Ben Hinchliff looked through photographs of his honeymoon with his new wife Emily before he was found dead from a single gunshot wound in his home in South Yorkshire.
A coronor has ruled it was beyond reasonable doubt that Mr Hinchliff took his own life after a battle with alcoholism and the deaths of his father and brother in 1994 and 2011 respectively.
The inquest was told Mr Hinchliff had been married in September last year and died on October 18.
He had been a barrister in London but quit his job to work on the family farm.
The Daily Mail reports the hearing was told how Mr Hinchliff had struggled with alcoholism for several years and had attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Coronor Christopher Dorries told the hearing how he had worried about bills shortly before his death.
"He got married and went on honeymoon, taking a break from the AA meetings. It was then that Emily began to notice some changes," he said.
The hearing was told Mrs Hinchliff noticed her husband had been quiet and texted him later in the day to say she would take some time off work to help him with the business.
The text message was to be the last contact she would have with her husband.
Mrs Hinchliff returned home that afternoon to find him missing and called a neighbour to help find him.
The neighbour raised the alarm after seeing Mr Hinchliff laid on the floor of the garage.
Family friend Barbara Beevers told the Daily Mail shortly after Mr Hinchliffe's death that he had always been a pleasant and courteous man.
"He always had a smile on his face, was always very friendly which is why all this has come as a huge shock. In short he was a lovely man," she said.
