Two Goldfields men have been charged over the gruesome murder of a 24-year-old man in Kalgoorlie at the weekend.

Police found the man's mutilated body at a house in Ware Street, South Kalgoorlie, on Sunday afternoon.

A 48-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, both of Boulder, will face the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today.

A home in Hamilton Street in Boulder was also cordoned off yesterday and it is understood police suspect the man may have been killed at the Boulder property before his body was moved to Ware Street.

Major crime squad and Kalgoorlie detectives have released few details about the suspected homicide but they believe the man was killed sometime on Saturday. It is understood there had been attempts to cut the man into pieces.

The name of the victim has not been released because family are still being notified.

Forensic officers and detectives yesterday searched both properties for evidence as well as a laneway between Ware and Harvey streets.

The two crime scenes remain secured this morning as "other persons may be involved", say police.

Detectives have asked anyone who was in the area near either property over the weekend to call police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
