Police have charged a 40-year-old man over a break-in at Corrective Services Minister Joe Francis' home last year.

The man, of no fixed address, was charged with one count of burglary and stealing.

The incident triggered a review of Mr Francis' security by the WA Police dignitary protection unit. The minister's parliamentary and Government security passes, wallet, credit cards and car keys were stolen.

Mr Francis has since moved house.

The accused man will be summoned to appear in court.
