One woman died and several people were injured in a spate of crashes across the State yesterday.

A 73-year-old Victorian woman died after the hire car she was in crashed on Victoria Highway, near Lake Argyle Road, in Kununurra about 2pm.

It is believed the woman’s 74-year-old husband lost control of the car and hit a tree after the vehicle entered a floodway.

The woman was taken to Kununurra District Hospital but died a short time later.

Seven juveniles were also taken to hospital after the golf buggy they were in crashed into a tree on a property in Yallingup overnight.

Three were seriously injured, one was critically injured and three are suffering from minor injuries.

A 19-year-old Osborne Park man suffered serious leg injuries when his unlicensed motorcycle crashed into a car on Bremer Bay Road about 2pm.

He was flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

About an hour later, a Hyundai hatchback and a Transperth bus crashed at the intersection of the Mitchell Freeway off-ramp and Wellington Street in Perth.

An 82-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was seriously injured.

Emergency services were also called to a crash in a Lancelin carpark yesterday.

A 53-year-old woman was taken to Joondalup Health Campus with a head injury after she was hit by a cyclist.
