Two men charged over the alleged murder of Michael Paul Pruiti have appeared in court.

Ben Michael Mansfield, 33, of Kalamunda was wearing a high-visibility shirt when he appeared briefly in the Perth Magistrate's Court accused of murdering Mr Pruiti on October 26 at Pickering Brook.

Christian Luke Gillmore, 32 of Maida Vale, appeared directly before him on a charge of being accessory to murder between the day he was allegedly killed and December 8.

Both men had their cases adjourned to January.

Outside court a father of one of the accused said he was shocked by the allegation and had not yet been able to speak to his son.

A 19-year-old Pickering Brook man is in custody helping police with their inquiries.

Mr Pruiti, of Lesmurdie, had not contacted friends and family, touched his bank accounts or used his phone since the day he was last seen in Lesmurdie.

The body of the 31-year-old labourer was found in thick bush in Karragullen on December 13.
