Driver charged with having loaded pistol in car

A driver who allegedly had a loaded pistol, a stun gun, ammunition and drugs in his car when pulled over will appear in court today.

Detectives in Peel charged a 27-year-old man with a number of drug and weapons-related offences following a traffic stop in Mandurah last night.

A police spokeswoman said officers stopped the man's Ford Territory on Allnutt Street about 5.45pm where they found a quantity of methylamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and weapons, including a loaded pistol and stun gun.

The man has been charged with drug and weapons offences as well as having no authority to drive and possessing unlawfully obtained property (cash).
