Beady Eye, The Hives and The Deftones have been named as the replacements for Blur on the Big Day Out 2014 line-up.

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye were the first to be announced as the stand-in for the britpop band on Triple J radio station on Wednesday afternoon.

Blur cancelled their appearance at the festival on November 24, claiming the organisers of the popular Australian musical festival let them down, resulting in a war of words with Big Day Out director AJ Maddah.

Swedish band The Hives and American band The Deftones will also join the line-up along with headliners Pearl Jam and Arcade Fire as the headline acts for the 2014 festival.

Other acts to play at the Big Day Out include Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion), The Lumineers, Primus, Tame Impala grunge rock godfathers Mudhoney, The Naked and Famous, The Phoenix Foundation and Bliss n Eso.
