Model, David Jones ambassador and Isola swimwear designer Megan Gale loves to fly the WA flag wherever she can.
The beauty chose a WA location, Broome, and a WA model, Nicole Trunfio, for her label's most recent campaign and said the experience of shooting around Cable Beach Resort was "a dream come true".
"I was kind of fixated on the idea of shooting the latest range in WA and Broome was just the perfect spot," Gale said at an exclusive preview of her collection in Sydney yesterday ahead of the David Jones spring/summer launch last night where the new swimwear graced the runway for the first time.
The dream became a reality very quickly, with a shoot team decamping to Broome only last month.
"I was a bit worried Nicole wouldn't be available but thank goodness she was," Gale said.
"She was the perfect person to embody the Isola look. My whole inspiration this season was geared towards the Italian Riviera and those beautiful smouldering, sexy southern Italian women like Sophia Loren and Monica Bellucci. I like to call it 'unapologetically sexy' - and Nicole was the perfect fit for that."
Gale added that Trunfio, who she has known since the latter was in her teens, was a "fantastic model".
"I think she's one of the best models I've seen in terms of her walk, her presence, and what she does in front of the camera. I've always been a fan so to be able to sit and watch her work her magic on a shoot was just incredible."
Gale sat front-row at David Jones' launch last night as another WA beauty, Jessica Gomes, strutted the catwalk wearing Isola swimwear.According to the designer, bright digital floral prints, lace and mesh inserts, and watercolour pastels look set to be the major swimwear trends for summer.
Isola's reach continues in leaps and bounds, with stockists in New Zealand, Canada, France, Spain and Brazil.
