Perth women are being warned to close their curtains at night as police search for a roaming peeping tom.

About midnight last night, a Maylands woman saw a naked man standing outside the glass doors of her Wall Street unit.

The man was shining a torch on himself and committing an obscene act.

A police spokeswoman said the incident was similar to several others reported across Perth over the past few months.

“In each incident, the man has approached homes at night, standing in front of windows or glass doors while committing an obscene act in full view of female occupants,” she said.

“He has not approached or threatened any women.

“Incidents have been reported in Gardner Street, Como, Cayley Street, Glendalough and Wall Street, Maylands.

“Police would like to remind members of the public to be mindful of their surroundings at all times, ensuring doors and windows are locked and curtains drawn at night.”

The spokeswoman said the offender was possibly using a bicycle or public transport to travel to different suburbs.

Police described the man as 35-45 years old and about 175-175cm tall, with fair skin and a solid build.

Anyone with information or anyone who has been the victim of such an incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
