Spotlight on state of WA music
The West Australian Abbe May.

Karnivool, Abbe May and Dave Hole are just a few of the big names who will perform on June 2 at the State of the Art music festival.

As part of Celebrate WA, the all- ages event will bring together some of WA's best musical acts to celebrate the State's music and people.

There will also be festivals in South Hedland and Merredin.

In Perth, there will be three seated showcases inside the Perth Concert Hall while all other acts will perform on one of three stages along the St Georges Terrace and Riverside Drive ends of the Concert Hall.

Legendary slide guitarist Hole, electro-rocker May and five-piece progressive rock band Karnivool will perform throughout the day, playing for up to three hours.

While the full line-up is yet to be revealed, it has also been confirmed that acts including Gyroscope, Jebediah's leading man Bob Evans and Eskimo Joe's Kav Temperley will also play.

Although the event is for people of all ages, there will be licensed areas for adults to drink.

Celebrate WA encourages West Australians to get involved in a variety of activities that recognise the State's culture, lifestyle, people and potential.

The festival falls on the WA Day long weekend, when the Western Australian of the Year Award and other community events take place.

Tickets for State of the Art go on sale through Ticketek today.

Ticket prices begin at $10 for the outdoor stages or $20 for the showcases.
