Two women were punched and kicked during an attempted robbery at a shopping centre car park in Nollamara on Tuesday.

Police said the women, aged 23 and 33, were walking through the IGA car park about 7.30pm when a blue Mazda 3 hatchback pulled up beside them.

A man got out of the car and tried to steal the younger woman’s handbag, resulting in a struggle that caused both the man and the woman to fall over.

The man then stood up and repeatedly punched and kicked the woman in the head and face while she lay on the ground.

When the victim’s friend tried to help, a man got out of the driver’s seat of the car and punched her in the face before joining the other offender in punching and kicking the woman on the ground.
The offenders left when the two women yelled for help.

The 23-year-old woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and treated for facial injuries while her friend suffered minor injuries.

The first offender is described as dark skinned with a chubby face, moustache and prominent eyes.
The second man had dark skin and was aged his early twenties.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
