A 23-year-old Marangaroo man has been charged after allegedly bashing and raping his 24-year-old partner.

Sex Assault Squad detectives will allege the man committed three separate assaults in their home, before the woman managed to escape and seek help.

The couple had been in a domestic relationship since 2009.

On March 31, the man allegedly assaulted his partner in their home, breaking her jaw severely enough to require three metal plates.

The next weekend, on Saturday, April 6, the man allegedly punched and kicked the woman, again in their home.

Then on Sunday, April 7, he allegedly threatened his partner with a knife before sexually assaulting her.

The man was later arrested and charged with aggravated sexual penetration without consent, aggravated grievous bodily harm and aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court today.
