Bureau warns of thunderstorm

Bad weather has been forecast across the central west and Wheatbelt for this afternoon and evening.

The Weather Bureau warns residents around Mount Magnet, Yalgoo, Moora, Northam, Kellerberrin, Southern Cross, Dalwallinu and Youanmi to prepare for a thunderstorm.

"This is typical weather for this time of year, but could damage homes and make travel dangerous," a Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said. "Storms may be accompanied by damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall which could lead to flash flooding and damage to property."

The storms are forecast to develop this afternoon and continue into the evening.

In Perth, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible over the Hills during the afternoon. Tomorrow will be fine in the city with a maximum of 33.
