Almost two dozen cars, most parked near a hospital, had their windows smashed in Mt Lawley during the weekend.

Police are investigating 23 reports of vehicles being damaged, including some cases in which an offender has smashed windows to steal items inside.

Most of the cars were parked near Mercy Hospital in Thirlmere Road.

Anyone who had a vehicle damaged in the area but has not yet reported it to police is asked to report the incident.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has any other information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
