An Irishman stabbed during a fight in Scarborough last week has died in hospital.

Kenny Meyler, 21, was stabbed in the neck during a fight on Helmsley Street about 2pm on February 10.

Police confirmed he died just after midnight yesterday in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Vincent Martin Crowe, 32, appeared in Perth Magistrate's Court last week on charges of grievous bodily harm in relation to the fight.

Police said charges against Mr Crowe could be upgraded, pending the results of a post-mortem examination. Mr Meyler had reportedly spent two years in Australia and was due to return home in May.
