Rainbow race draws 10,000

Runners, all dressed in white running gear today completed the 5km course around Langley Park for The Swisse Color Run - being showered with blue, pink, orange and yellow colour powder along the way.

Based on a hugely successful US event and inspired in part by the Hindu Holi Festival, the event, which is not timed or about winning, but having fun and celebrating life, culminated in a 'Finish Festival' staged in Langley Park, seeing runners enjoying themselves, a spokeswoman for the event said.

She said the race said a sell-out crowd of 10,000 donned running gear for the race in which natural food grade corn starch showered the athletes.

"A donation will be made of on behalf of The Celebrate Life Foundation and The Swisse Color Run to Perth event charity partner JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) following the event, to support their ongoing work into programs that investigate the environmental triggers of type 1 diabetes (T1D)," the spokeswoman said.
