Police are warning the public to be alert after a suspicious incident involving a man approaching a seven year old boy in Wandi yesterday.

The boy told his parents a man pulled up in a late-model bright blue hatchback near the driveway of his home on Robinson Road at about 5pm.

The man spoke to the child who was riding his bike along the driveway before driving away.

Police have asked the public to be alert but not alarmed.

“Any incident that could potentially involve the welfare of a child is important but it is also important that awareness does not become alarmist,” spokeswoman Susan Usher said in a statement.

Anyone with information or anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour of any kind is asked to call 131 444.
