A man was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation after a fire at a home in Yokine overnight.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said firefighters were called to the Wellington Parade home just after 9.30pm and found a person unconscious outside.

He said the man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Firefighters from Perth, Malaga and Osborne Park took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze but not before it caused $200,000 damage to the home.

The fire is believed to have started because of a frying pan flare up and the kitchen was extensively damaged.

The rest of the house had smoke damage.

In another fire yesterday, a house in Woodvale was destroyed by a suspicious blaze.

A department spokesman said firefighters were called to the Duffy Terrace home about 4.30pm.

The home was vacant but it is understood to have been used by children for parties.

The fire spread to bushland next to the property and burnt through a part of Yellagonga Regional Park.

Fire crews from Duncraig, Joondalup and Wangara and police attended the blaze.
