A 43-year-old Karratha man has been charged over a crash that claimed the life of a 41-year-old on Monday.

The truck driver was travelling along North West Coastal Highway near Karratha when his vehicle collided with a Toyota Hilux about 5pm.

The Toyota became wedged under the truck and the driver of the car died as a result of his injuries.

Police yesterday charged the truck driver with dangerous driving causing death.

He will appear in Karratha Magistrate's Court next week.
