A 20-year-old man has been charged after allegedly hitting a man and fracturing his jaw outside a Midland hotel last week.

The Middle Swan man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after he allegedly struck a 28-year-old man to the side of the head outside the Eastern Hotel on January 4.

The charged man was allegedly one of a group of four men who approached the 28-year-old and were involved in a brief argument with the man before the attack.

The 28-year-old man was knocked unconscious and needed hospital treatment for his injury.

Police released CCTV vision of the attack yesterday.

The 20-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Midland Magistrate's Court today.
