Two teenagers have been charged after an alleged stolen car chase through Perth's south-eastern suburbs yesterday.

Police allege that about 1.40pm officers on patrol at Carousel Shopping Centre spotted a Volkswagon Beetle which had been stolen from a Shelley house over the weekend.

After failing to stop for police, a pursuit took place through Rivervale, Carlisle, Cannington and Queens Park before police lost sight of the car.

The vehicle was then located pulling into a driveway on Wharf Street in Queens Park. Stolen property was allegedly found inside the car.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with failing to stop, stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving and having no authority to drive. He will appear in the Perth Children's Court today.

A 17-year-old girl was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and will appear in the Perth Children's Court on January 21.
