Murder charge over two-year-old s death

Update: Police have charged a 22-year-old man with murder after the death of a two-year-old boy in Bassendean overnight.

It is alleged officers were called to Swan District Hospital last night about 10.45pm to respond to the death of the child.

Inquiries led officers to a unit on Station Street in Bassendean.

The block of 14 two-storey units are owned by Homeswest. Forensics are currently at the scene.

Wayne Murray Narkle appeared in the Perth Magistrate’s Court today charged with murder.

He was not required to enter a plea and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear in Stirling Garden's Magistrate's Court on January 30.
