A 42-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm in relation to the death of a 27-year-old Broome man.

Police were called to a Forrest Street unit around 8.35am yesterday and found the man dead on the back porch with multiple stab wounds.

The woman appeared in Broome Magistrate’s Court this afternoon charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm. Her charge may be upgraded pending a post mortem examination.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Baddock said the man and woman had allegedly been at the Kennedy Hill Community on Tuesday night.

St John's Ambulance volunteers were called to the house where they found the man and attempted to revive him but he died at the scene.

Detectives are still calling for witnesses who were in the Kennedy Hill Community on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday and in the Forrest Street area in the early hours of December 12.

Anyone who can assist in this investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
