Kerr laid low by knee surgery
Kerr laid low by knee surgery

Daniel Kerr's appearance in round one next season is in doubt after the veteran midfielder had surgery on a knee.

Kerr underwent an arthroscopy to remove bone fragments in the joint of his right leg and will spend the next three weeks recuperating.

The operation will force Kerr to delay a resumption of his pre-season training until mid-to-late January.

There was concern about Kerr's fitness after he sat out Eagles training late last week. He wasn't even part of the rehabilitation group during the Friday session at McGillivray Oval.

It is another setback for West Coast as they ready their team for the 2013 AFL campaign.

Star ruckman Nic Naitanui is expected to miss round one after undergoing groin surgery.
