A 61-year-old woman was thrown to the ground and mugged after withdrawing a large amount of cash from a Clarkson shopping centre last Friday.

About 4:30pm on November 16 the woman withdrew money from the Commonwealth Bank ATM outside the Ocean Keys Shopping Centre.

After driving to a nearby car park behind the Clarkson Library, the woman was approached by a man who grabbed her handbag. She was pushed to the ground in the scuffle.

The offender left with only her purse after discarding the handbag.

He is described as being in his twenties, stocky, olive skinned and about 178cm tall.

At the time of the of the mugging he was wearing dark pants, a navy blue 'hoodie' and dark glasses.
