A fire caused $70,000 damage to a home in Northam overnight.

A Fire and Emergency Services Authority spokesman said firefighters were called to the blaze about 1.50am.

He said volunteer firefighters from Northam and Toodyay attended the property and took about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No one was injured in the fire.

The police arson squad are set to investigate the blaze today.
