Police have conducted a series of drug raids across Perth this morning as part of Operation Crackdown.

The operation targeted street level drug dealers in all seven metropolitan districts.

As teenagers made their way to school in Balga just after 8am police executed a search warrant on a unit on Markham Way.

Four children and three adults were found inside. Officers found several items of what was believed to be stolen property inside.

In Trigg, police found a sophisticated hydroponic set up at a rented home containing between 100 and 130 plants.

Detectives took away one man for questioning.

A police spokeswoman said the raids were conducted today to target those members of society who have a negative effect on the community they live in.

“The operation intent was to conduct a large number of drug search warrants across the metropolitan area in a single day to disrupt and dismantle these dealers’ activities, at the same time as reassuring the community that police are committed to making their community a safer place,” the spokeswoman said.
