West Coast have shown interest in recruiting WA product Cale Morton from Melbourne.
Morton is in Perth and is believed to have undergone medical testing with the Eagles yesterday.
The 192cm tall utility has played 73 matches for the Demons, including 14 last season.
Ironically, the Eagles were able to recruit his brother Mitch under the father-son rule until a loophole in the policy was exposed preventing the WA club from selecting Cale.
Mitch Morton subsequently left the Eagles, moving to Richmond before playing in Sydney's premiership team last month.
The 22-year-old is contracted to the Demons for another season.
It is believed the Eagles had also shown interest in recruiting Fremantle defender Greg Broughton before the Dockers did a trade deal with Gold Coast this morning.
