A school chaplain has been charged after he allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl during a three month period last year.

Child abuse squad detectives charged the 33-year-old southern suburbs man, who is also a pastor of a church, with several sexual offences including eight counts of indecent dealing with a child of or over 16 by a person in authority and one count of sexual penetration without consent.

It will be alleged the girl, who was 16-years-old at the time, was involved in a consensual sexual relationship with the then 32-year-old man between July and September 2011.

It is alleged that on one occasion the man had non-consensual sex with the girl.

He will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, October 31.
