Man bashed in Albany nightclub

A 23-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries including a fractured jaw after being bashed outside an Albany nightclub.

The assault happened outside Studio 146 on Stirling Terrace on August 19.

A police spokesman said officers on patrol were called to a disturbance outside the nightclub about 4am.

They spotted the victim, who was walking along York Street with a group of people, as they were leaving the area about 20 minutes later.

The spokesman said the circumstances surrounding how the man was hurt were not known, but his injuries suggested he was the victim of an assault.

The victim had a fractured jaw and fractured nose.

He was taken to Albany Hospital in an ambulance.
