Three adults and a teenager have been winched from the water by the rescue helicopter after their boat overturned when it was hit by a wave near Garden Island this morning.

The stricken dinghy set off an EPIRB (emergency position-indicating radio beacon) to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority just after 7am and the RAC rescue helicopter was sent to the scene.

All four of the men, who were uninjured, were winched to safety and are being taken to Jandakot Airport where they will be met by family.
