It’s a big weekend for Eagles player Dean Cox’s wife Kerry and Perth fashion designer Alvin Fernandez.
Mrs Cox will step out in one of Fernandez’s Ae’lkemi label creations on Monday at the Brownlow Medal ceremony.
It will be the 31-year-old’s fourth attendance at the high-glamour awards but the first time she has had to find a gown to accommodate a growing baby bump.
Mrs Cox and Fernandez are keeping the dress under wraps until Monday.
“It makes it more of a surprise,” Mrs Cox said.
“That’s what everyone holds out for, I guess.
“It’s nice to make a special impact.
“Instead of hiding Kerry under layers, we thought let’s show it (her baby bump) off and have her dress a bit more fitting,” Fernandez said.
“I dress to fit the personality.
“Kerry understands the style.”
He is also busy finishing off Brownlow dresses for Matthew Pavlich’s wife Lauren, Aaron Sandilands’ wife Jenny and Chris Mayne’s girlfriend Kat Furey.
Fernandez’s Ae’lkemi runway show will close the Perth Fashion Festival tomorrow night.
Ae’lkemi’s high glamour and 1970s-inspired resort wear was a highlight of last year’s event.
