Plea for information on Rockingham attack
Jamey Barrett is recovering at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

The family of a teenager who was allegedly king hit on the Rockingham foreshore have pleaded for information into his attack.

Jamey Barrett, 19, was with friends when he became involved in a fight at the popular beach-side park about 4.25pm on Sunday.

Police allege during an argument with three other men in front of the public toilets, Dylan Michael Peter Rimmer ,18, king hit the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.

Another man then allegedly lifted the front half of the teenager's body and slammed him into the ground.

Mr Barrett's family have said in a statement they are "shocked and horrified about this cowardly attack on our much loved 19-year-old son, brother and friend".

Mr Barrett remains in a stable condition at Sir Charles Gairdner after waking from an induced coma.

Mr Rimmer appeared in Rockingham Magistrate's court yesterday charged with grievous bodily harm.

Police have interviewed another man but are still looking for a third person allegedly involved in the incident.

Mr Barrett's family said they strongly encourage anyone with information to come forward to speak to police.
