A man escaped with minor injuries after rolling his car during a police chase in Wanneroo last night.

The incident happened at the intersection of Leach Road and Hastings Street about 11.10pm.

The driver was apparently doing burnouts in front of police before going through an intersection and down an embankment.

Insp. Bill Norton said the police had been pursuing the man's car before the driver accelerated and failed to manoeuvre a T-junction.

The car went through a cyclone-wire fence and rolled, he said.

A 27-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Joondalup hospital for treatment following the crash.

No charges have yet been laid over the incident, police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.
