A 24-year-old Two Rocks man has been charged over an armed robbery in Sorrento.

Police will allege the man entered the BP service station on West Coast Drive about 1.40am Sunday and threatened the attendant with a knife.

The attendant handed over an amount of money and cigarettes and the offender fled.

Police executed a search warrant at the man's house yesterday and subsequently charged him with armed robbery.

He will appear in the Joondalup Magistrate's Court today.
