Numbers shaved into quadruplets hair
Numbers shaved into quadruplets' hair

A Chinese mum has shaved numbers into her quadruplets' hair, in a bid to help teachers tell them apart.

The six-year-old boys from Shenzhen in China's south will start school this week with the hair-raising 'dos, after teachers complained that they would struggle to tell them apart otherwise.

Far from finding the teachers' complaints unreasonable, the boys' mother shares their struggle, according to

"My sons are identical, even to me," she said. "I could only tell the difference between them by having different ankle tags on them before they turned 18 months old."

"Their father even now can't tell the differences among them," added Tan Chao Yun. "Sometimes he would punish the second one for the third one's mistake."

With the scalp job done, Tan told reporters her sons would avoid the embarrassment of mistaken identity. "Teachers and classmates can't get confused with the big marks on their head!"

That is, unless the style catches on.
