Police have charged a 25-year-old Kalgoorlie man with the murder of a 32-year-old man whose body was found near the Goldfields town on Friday.

A police spokesman said the man had been charged overnight and would appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on September 3.

The victim's body was found by prospectors about 25km north east of Kalgoorlie on Friday afternoon.

Det. Sen-Sgt Rod Wilde said yesterday the victim's next of kin had been notified.

Police would not disclose how the man died.

Det. Sen-Sgt Wilde said the man had been identified by forensics, but his identity would not be released at this time
