Body found in Goldfields

UPDATE 2.30pm: Police are investigating the murder of a 32-year-old man in the Goldfields.

A police spokesman said the man's body was discovered by two prospectors yesterday afternoon in bush about 500 metres from Yarri Road, about 25km north-east of Kalgoorlie.

Det. Sen-Sgt Rod Wilde said the man's next of kin had been notified.

Det. Sen-Sgt Wilde said the man, described as Caucasian, had injuries consistent with a homocide.

Kalgoorlie detectives and Major Crime Squad officers are investigating.

Police would not disclose how the man died but said they would be treating his death as a suspected homicide because of his injuries.

Police are calling for anyone that may have been in the area on Friday or who may have information regarding the man's death to call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 or Kalgoorlie detectives on 90219703.

Det. Sen-Sgt Wilde said the man had been identified by forensics, but his identity would not be released at this time.

He said the man was definitely not missing man Charlie Park.
